Dutch waffles with caramel filling Yashkino
Shortbread waffles with tender caramel filling.
It is no coincidence that these round waffles are called Dutch. It is believed that they come from the city of Gouda in the Netherlands, where they were first produced at the turn of the 18th and early 19th centuries by some baker. At Netherlands, they were called stroopwafel ("syrup waffle").
Usually, stroopwafels are eaten like ordinary ones, with tea in one hand and a waffle in another. Try another way: cover a cup with a hot drink with a round waffle, after half a minute it will heat up and become softer, and the taste will become more velvety.
